Storm Chasers

Unlike those “storm chaser” contractors that you’ve most likely had knock at your door, you won’t see Performance Roofing canvassing your neighborhood with sales reps to convince you to file an insurance claim for no good reason. We are, however, still highly trained to identify storm damage on your roofing system and are knowledgeable in the insurance claim process to assist you along the way. Hurricanes definitely cause roof damage, but so do hail and wind storms that we see much more commonly throughout the year in our climate.

What should you do if one of those “storm chasers” knocks at your door and asks to inspect your roof? Thank him for his concern and send him on his way… his company will most likely blow out of town with the next major storm event and leave you in their taillights anyway. We know, those are the roof leaks we end up fixing for our neighbors!!

1Schedule Your Inspection

Next, reach out to Performance Roofing (a trusted, local roofer) to perform an honest inspection for roof damage. If damage is documented, we will provide you with the information you need to initiate a claim with your insurance carrier. No obligating contracts, no Assignment of Benefits (A.O.B.), no games.

2Adjuster Inspection of Roof

Once you report the claim to your insurance carrier, the carrier will assign an adjuster to perform an inspection. Your Performance Roofing representative will meet your adjuster to assist in the process and ensure that they document the damage to the roofing system. The adjuster will determine if your roof claim is approved or denied.

3Contract and Pre-Installation

Once your adjuster approves the claim, Performance Roofing will provide you with a contract for services based upon the insurance estimate used for the claim. Paperwork will be completed for permitting, material selection, and to review the details of your new roof installation. Your representative will collect your insurance deductible at that time, along with any upgrade costs that you might choose.

4Installation

Our production department will contact you to choose a start date, discuss the details of your replacement, and review any of your concerns before we commence with the roof replacement. You will know when we’re starting the project and will know who your on-site point of contact is, the project superintendent. No surprises from a crew showing up at your house unannounced! You will be updated throughout the process as much as you prefer, ensuring that you are comfortable with the process and that it proceeds smoothly.
